The Klein Pharmacy: A History
Klein's Pharmacy was once described as Walterboro's oldest business. Founded by European immigrant J.J. Klein in 1845 the business would operate for ninety-four years before closing its doors in December of 1939. Discover the history of this Walterboro institution and the imigrant family who started it all and became one of the town's oldest, most-well known families.
The presentation by local Historian Elizabeth Laney will include highlights from the Klein Pharmacy Paper Collection, the pharmacy records, which were donated to USC's Caroliniana Library by the Klein Family.
