NEW HARMONIES Opening Concert

Marlena Smalls & the Hallelujah Singers at Hampton Street Auditorium to kick off the Smithsonian exhibit:  NEW HARMONIES: CELEBRATING AMERICAN ROOTS MUSIC.  Reception immediately following the concert for first preview of the exhibit at the Colleton Museum & Farmers Market.  Sponsors of the event are the Colleton Museum & Farmers Market, Colleton Center, Colleton County Arts Council, and the Colleton County Memorial Library with support from the Walterboro-Colleton Chamber of Commerce.  Exhibit will be on display at the Museum through Jan. 6, 2013.  Tickets avail. from any of the sponsoring organizations.

NEW HARMONIES has been made possible in South Carolina by the Humanities Council SC.  New Harmonies is part of the Museum on Main Street, collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and the Federation of State Humanities Councils.
